Obituary

Arthur R.T. Miller was born in New York City on August 21, 1955, to R.T. Miller and Helen Miller Robinson. He completed his earthly journey on April 20, 2026.

Arthur R.T. Miller, affectionately known as “Artie,” was a lifelong New Yorker whose steady presence, sharp mind, and generous heart left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. He earned his education as a Computer Analyst at Bronx Community College and went on to build a career in computer analysis supporting stock trading on Wall Street. Artie was a dedicated member of St. Paul’s Community Church, where his faith and sense of community were evident in how he showed up for others.

A skilled guitarist, Artie could play many songs by his favorite group, Earth, Wind & Fire, and he never tired of sharing the story of meeting the legendary George Benson.

Artie was a natural leader—quick to offer practical, common-sense advice. Deeply sentimental, he often did thoughtful things for others quietly and without recognition. Though he could be blunt, those closest to him knew it came from the heart and from a place of care.

Artie was preceded in death by his parents, R.T. and Helen Miller Robinson, and by his brothers, Virgil Miller and Billy Miller.

He is survived by: His brother, Alvin Miller (Bronx, New York surviving Family and Friends.

Artie leaves behind his brother, Alvin Miller, who resides in the Bronx, New York. His legacy continues through his nephews: Chief Examiner Darkim Be Allah of New York City, Carlos Bernard of the Bronx, New York, and Darrly Butler Varlack of San Diego, California. He is survived by his niece, Darlene Varlack, who lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, and his great-niece, Amarah Miller. He is also survived by a host of older Cunningham cousins from South Carolina, Virginia, and Florida. He is survived by a host of younger cousins from New York and the northeast.

Artie’s life was enriched by the presence of two lifelong friends, Gracy Sampson and Herbert Dyson, whose companionship meant so much to him. In addition to his immediate family and close friends, Artie is remembered fondly by many other relatives and friends and church members whose lives he touched.
