Deloris Lane fell asleep in death peacefully on March 24, 2026. Born in Manning, South Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of the late Alma and Lawrence Wells. She later made her home in Brooklyn, New York where she graduated from Franklin K. Lane High School before serving in the United States Army.
Following her service, Deloris began a long and dedicated career with the New York City Department of Transportation, where she worked diligently for over thirty years before retiring.
During her life, Deloris met and married Ronald Lane and from their union blended five beautiful children. She was deeply devoted to her family, her God and was known for her unwavering support and care for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Deloris was a woman full of life, joy, and energy. She was known for her fast-paced stride, always moving with purpose wherever she went, and for dancing whenever she had the chance. Her bright, joyful smile could light up any room, and her presence brought warmth and happiness to all who knew her.
A woman of strong faith, Deloris dedicated her life as a faithful servant of Jehovah God and was baptized on December 31, 1988. Affectionately known as “Dee” or “Lois”, she was admired for her unshakable faith and the joy that shared with others.
She will be remembered as a kind-hearted, reliable and loving woman, an extraordinary daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
Deloris is preceded in death by her Husband, Ronald Lane; Daughter, Keyshia Cordner; Son, Maurice Sabb; Brothers, Charles Sabb, Steven Sabb and Leroy Sabb; Sisters, Zelma Sabb and Carolyn Felder.
Deloris leaves to cherish her memory; Daughter in Law, Marcya “Dawn, Sabb, Daughters, Libra Lane and Niyeka Lane, Son; Ronald Lane (Melena), Sister-in-Law; Mae, Brothers, Darrell Small, Franklin Huggins, Lee Felder and Lawrence Felder; Sisters, Diane Hubbard (Charlie), and Sharrell Felder; First Cousin, Earnest (Buddy) Lawson; Grandchildren; Marlan Sabb (Teresa), Derrick Cooper, Danasia Lane-Marquez (Felipe), Diamond Lane-Santana (Edward), Evan Patrice, Ean Patrice, Dylan Cordner, Myles Cordner, and Eden Lane; Great Grandchildren, Kourtney Sabb, Mason Sabb, Riley Sabb and Logan Marquez; Nephews, Steven C. Sabb, Eric Sabb, Mark Sabb, Darrell Sheppard and Christopher J. Sabb; Nieces, Yolanda Sabb, Tranace Sabb, Charesse Owens (London), Chakeeba Hubbard, LaToya Small-Best (Dennis), Shalonda Nakima Clemons, Cheryl L.
