Linette R. Allen was born on January 6, 1945, and peacefully entered eternal rest on January 4, 2026, just days before her 81st birthday.

Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, Linette was the beloved daughter of the late Thelma Cook Allen and Edward L. Stephens. She was educated in the New York City school system and proudly graduated from Walton High School in the Bronx.

Linette dedicated many years of service to the City of New York as a ticket booth clerk with NYC Transit. In a selfless act of love and devotion, she left her position to care full-time for her mother during her battle with severe diabetes, exemplifying her deep sense of duty and unwavering commitment to family.

Following her mother’s passing, Linette answered a calling to healthcare and became a Registered Nurse, continuing her lifelong mission of caring for others with compassion, love, and concern. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her profession and into her family life, where she played a pivotal role in raising and guiding the next generation.

She was preceded in death by her two beloved siblings, George Allen and Frederick E. E. Allen.

Survived by her only child, Jihod Allen, who was the pride and joy of her life. She also helped to raise her cousin, Theron, and with selfless devotion helped raise all of her siblings’ children, leaving an indelible mark on each of their lives, including Mornee Brodhead (Winzel), Michael Allen (June), Mark Allen (Kim), the late Katherine Lindsey, Veena Smith, Barbara Chancellor (A.G.), and Frederick E. E. Allen Jr. (Shawntia). Linette also shared a close and loving bond with Alana, who is considered part of the family for many years.

Linette will be remembered as a pillar of strength, a caregiver in every sense of the word,
