Natina Bethea was born on February 23, 1970, the only child of Bethsheba Bethea and Nathaniel Bonaparte and the oldest granddaughter of Willie and Silena Bethea.

Natina was preceded in death by her parents and leaves behind a legacy in her two sons: Nathaniel and DeVante, her younger brother Malcolm, sister Keima, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and too many close family and friends to name.

Natina graduated in 1988 from Andrew Jackson High School where she sang in the Gospel Chorus and Ensemble, played drums in the band, and even had her own rap alter ego named, Madame X. She was very involved in AJ Alumni activities and loved to party with her friends.

After graduating high school, she married her high school sweetheart, O’Neil Greene, and together they had two sons: Nathaniel and DeVante Greene who she loved and protected. She loved to cook and make big spreads with her mother or solo on the holidays, as food was her love language. She was a diverse cook with recipes from every cultures and she worked tirelessly to create a cookbook to hold them all.

Natina finally found her passion in teaching after trying her hand at a host of careers, including a stint as Eddie Murphy’s administrative assistant. It was teaching that she dedicated herself to until the end.

She left behind a legacy that will continue, and a life well lived with love and grace.
